An Outstanding Church School

Mrs Cowling will be absent from school due to a planned knee operation from Monday the 30th October returning after a phased recovery towards the later part of the half term.

Mrs Cairns will be deputising in her absence and Mrs Cowling will remain in close contact with the school.

2017 Assessment Results 

Pupil Outcomes

In the Summer term 2016 the DfE introduced new tests for Key stage 1 and 2 children which reflected the new national curriculum. Outcomes for tests are reported as scaled scores, rather than levels, with scores ranging from 80 to 120.  100 is the national expected standard that a child should achieve. Children may be working towards this standard (WTS), working at the expected standard (EXS) or working at a greater depth within the standard (GDS).

Progress: The progress score is used to compare to the national average, comparing children with similar starting points. Positive scores show that our children performed better than their peers. In Writing our children scored +0.7 scaled points above their peers with similar starting points in the tests (where a scaled score of 100 is the “expected” standard). In Maths our progress score was +0.2 above children with similar starting points.  In Reading the score is slightly below others (-0.4) identifying Reading as a priority area for school improvement in 2017-18.
